he String Hopper Tray (Idiyappam Tray) is traditionally made using fibres from the palmyra palm sheath. It is a strong and durable utensil, and today it is also made using palmyra palm leaves and palmyra fibres. It is used exclusively for steaming string hoppers (Idiyappam).
